Masterpieces in Clay: A continuation course

Ready to take your next step in ceramics? A warm welcome to our continuation course at Studio Alster!
This course is perfect for those who have already explored the basics of pinching, slab building, coiling, and wheel throwing, and are now looking to deepen their skills and creativity.
In addition to the fundamental techniques, you’ll learn exciting new skills such as sgraffito, marbling, nerikomi, and basic clay recycling. You’ll also gain valuable knowledge about maintaining a healthy and functional studio environment. Each session begins with a short demonstration or overview, followed by time to work freely with the technique of your choice. I’ll be there to support you throughout the entire process — from your first lump of clay to your finished piece. You are free to experiment with all techniques or choose to focus on one in particular. Course Format:

- 6 sessions, 3 hours each — total of 18 hours
- 5 sessions focused on creating and completing your pieces
- The final session is dedicated to glazing
- You can pick up your fired pieces approximately 4–6 weeks after the course ends
- 1.5 kg white clay (Additional clay in various colors is available on-site for 85 SEK/kg)
- Engobe, underglaze, glaze & firings
- Coffee, tea & light snacks in the lounge before each session
- A relaxed and inspiring environment to unleash your creativity

Feel free to bring your own indoor shoes/slippers; aprons are available to borrow. Please arrive 10 minutes early to have a moment to settle in before we start :)
